Jaguar

The jaguar is the world's third largest cat, after the tiger and the lion, and the largest cat in the Americas. They can reach 170cm in length, not including their impressive tails, which can reach 80cm in length. Male jaguars can weigh up to 120kg (nearly 19 stone), while female jaguars can weigh up to 100kg. However, their sizes can vary greatly between regions, with central American jaguars being roughly half the size of Pantanal jaguars. They need that bulk to take on large prey, such as giant caiman.
